Hi, I’m Jennifer.
I’m an artist and designer working at the intersection of language, image, symbol, and color. I like making things that communicate and things that resonate.
I direct the City of Huntsville’s Public Art Program through Arts Huntsville, and I’m currently pursuing an MFA in Integrative Art with a concentration in Digital Media at Athens State University’s Alabama Center for the Arts. My path here wound through a BA in Studio Art from Cal State Fullerton, a Master’s in Integrated Marketing Communications from the University of West Alabama, and a career that has threaded graphic design, writing, technology, and the performing arts into something I stopped trying to name a long time ago.
I’m originally from Southern California. I’ve called Huntsville home since 2007.
Sarai Moon is my artist name. Sarai comes from my Hebrew name, שָׂרַי בַּת רִבְקָה. Moon is a portmanteau of the first two letters of my maiden name and the last two of my mother name. The Moon is also the Tarot card associated with my Sun sign, Pisces. It fit, so it stuck.
When I’m not working, I’m reading, hiking, watching something spooky, playing video games, taking moonlight walks, or getting into trouble with kindred spirits.
